18" Aquarian Super Kick II - Coated

Product Description

The Aquarian Super Kick II Coated is a single-ply 18" bass drum head with a built-in muffling system, so you don't need to add pillows or felt strips to control the tone. It's one of the most imitated head series on the market and a favorite among drummers, drum techs and recording engineers who want a musical, controlled bass drum sound.

The secret is the patented "Floating Muffling System". A narrow band of acoustic felt that rests loosely against the head and moves, or "breathes", with it as you play. The felt eliminates unwanted overtones the same way external muffling would, but since it's built into the head itself you skip the hassle of pillows or felt strips inside the drum. The result is a pre-muffled yet still natural sound, with that satisfying low-end punch.

Who It's For

A great fit if you want a bass drum sound that's ready to go straight out of the box, without experimenting with extra muffling to tame ringing and overtones. The Super Kick series is also available in double-ply and hybrid-ply versions, and in clear, texture and vintage coated finishes, so you can dial in the character you're after.
