18" Meinl Soundcaster Fusion Medium Crash
Product Description
The Meinl Soundcaster Fusion Medium Crash is an 18" crash cymbal built as a hybrid between a thin and a thick cymbal, with an extra pass of lathing near the edges for a bright, clean tone and crisp attack. The sustain is controlled rather than washy, keeping the cymbal clear in the mix without taking over. A solid choice if you want a clean, direct crash sound with plenty of attack.
Construction
The cymbal is cast from B12 bronze (88% copper, 12% tin) and finished with Meinl's Hi-Tech computer-controlled hammering for an even, consistent result. The extra lathing pass near the edges is what gives the Soundcaster Fusion series its hybrid character between thin and thick cymbals. Thin enough for quick response, thick enough for control.
Sound Character
The tone is bright and clean with a crisp, clear attack. Sustain is controlled, making the cymbal easy to place both live and in the studio where you want attack without flooding the overall sound.
