18" Paiste PST X Swiss Thin Crash

The 18" PST X Swiss Thin Crash is a thin effects crash from Paiste, built for a fast attack and a trashy, exotic sound that cuts through the mix. It's a great choice if you want to add character to your setup with a cymbal that responds instantly and decays quickly, without taking over too much space.

The cymbal is cast from a CuSn20 bronze, MS63 brass and aluminum alloy, giving it a distinctive, slightly rawer sound compared to pure bronze cymbals. Thanks to its thin construction it responds quickly to light strokes, with a washy, somewhat scattered sound rather than a long, cohesive sustain.

Sound Character

Volume sits in the medium-low to medium-loud range, with a lively intensity that keeps the crash present without dominating. The attack sound is washy and trashy – good if you want a cymbal with personality rather than a clean, straightforward crash. The integrated bell gives you an extra sound option when playing into the bell.
