18" Paiste Swiss Medium Crash

The Paiste PST X Swiss Medium Crash is an 18" effect cymbal with a washy, somewhat trashy attack and an integrated bell for extra sparkle. It's a good pick if you want to add something that stands out from a regular crash sound, without breaking the bank.

The PST X series is built for any setting where you want a bit of extra effect in your sound. The alloy is a blend of CuSn20 bronze, MS63 brass and aluminum, giving the cymbal its characteristic, slightly rawer and more exotic voice compared to pure bronze cymbals.

Sound Character

Paiste describes the thickness as medium heavy, which gives a medium-to-loud volume and a fairly lively intensity. The attack is washy — airy and a little trashy — rather than a clean, focused crash sound. The integrated bell gives a clear ping when you play the center, and Paiste describes the general PST X character as effect-laden, trashy or exotic depending on the model.
