18" Meinl Pure Alloy Trash China
Meinl Pure Alloy 18" Trash China with a bright, clean tone. Computerized hammering in Germany. Fast response from the holes.
Product Description
The Meinl Pure Alloy 18" Trash China (MPN PA18TRCH, item code PA18CH) delivers a bright, clean and timeless tone that pairs well with the more complex, earthy sound of the Byzance series. The cymbal is made in Meinl's German factory using computerized hammering, giving it the even, controlled brightness typical of Meinl's Central European cymbals.
Why do trash cymbals have holes?
Removing material from a cymbal lets the sound move through it faster and decay more quickly, creating the fast response and quick decay trash cymbals are known for. The size, shape and placement of the holes also affect how trashy or dark the cymbal's tone becomes.
Tonal Character
- Shimmering clarity in the sound
- High-mid pitch, with a mid-dark timbre
- Medium to low volume, medium sustain
- Fast response and quick decay thanks to the holes in the cymbal surface
With its bright, clear character, it works well for rock, pop, fusion, R&B, reggae and studio work.
