Product Description
Evans Hydraulic Red is a two-ply oil film head with a red transparent film, built to give control and a short, full-bodied tone. The thin layer of oil droplets between the plies tames overtones and creates a compressed, fat sound that works well even at low tunings.
Compared to its sibling heads Hydraulic Glass, Blue and Black, the Red Hydraulic feels a touch more open in the attack and carries more energy in the stroke. The tone is just as compressed and fat as the rest of the family, delivering a punchy, full sound even when finger-tuned (tuned low and loose).
The gold logo is a clear nod to 70s glitter and glamour – but the sound is every bit as serious now as it was then.
