Product Description
The Aquarian Focus-X Coated with Power Dot is an 18" tom head in 10 mil single-ply, with a vented muffle ring built right into the hoop underneath the head. The design tames unwanted overtones while keeping a fat, powerful tone, and the center Power Dot patch adds extra focus and a clear, controlled response.
The vented muffle ring sits hidden inside the hoop and does the job an external muffling ring otherwise would. No tape, rings, or other fixes needed to get rid of unwanted overtones. At the same time, it keeps a full, fat tone on toms, and on snare drums the construction gives a sensitive, articulate response.
The head also works well for close-miking, both live and in the studio, thanks to its controlled tone and reduced overtone spill.
Also available as Coated Reverse Power Dot, a version with the Power Dot on the underside for even more focus in the tone.
