18" Paiste Color Sound 900 China Cymbal - Purple

Product Description

An 18" china cymbal from Paiste's Color Sound 900 series, cast in CuSn20 bronze and finished with hand-hammering. The purple colour coating gives the cymbal a slightly darker, more controlled sound than the standard series, with a trashy character and a built-in chick sound. Works equally well on stage and in the studio, across most genres.

• Warm, full and dynamic sound
• Washy attack with trashy intensity
• Medium bell and built-in chick sound
• Medium thin thickness gives medium to loud volume
• Machine-made, finished by hand-hammering
• Purple colour coating gives a darker, more controlled tone

Sound Character

The sound is warm, full and dynamic, with a washy attack that moves into a trashy intensity. The bell has a medium character, and the cymbal has a built-in chick sound, making it versatile in different musical settings. Thanks to the purple colour coating, the sound is slightly darker and more controlled compared to the standard Color Sound 900 series.

Construction

The cymbal is cast in CuSn20 alloy and, like the rest of the 900 series, is machine-made at its core, but finished with hand-hammering. The thickness is medium thin, which together with the hand-hammered surface gives it a medium to loud volume.

Who It's For

A great china cymbal for players who want a distinct, trashy sound with character. And who like to stand out visually on stage. Works just as well live as in the studio, regardless of genre.
