18" Paiste Color Sound 900 Black Heavy Crash Cymbal - Black

Product Description

The 18" Black Heavy Crash from Paiste's Color Sound 900 series is made from CuSn20 bronze with a black color coating, giving it a warm, full and dynamic sound. The cymbal is machine-made in its first stage and then hand-hammered, which combined with the coating gives a slightly darker and more controlled sound than a standard 900 series cymbal. Works well both live and in the studio, across genres.

Sound and Feel

The sound is described as warm, full and dynamic, with a washy stick sound and lively intensity. It's a heavy-weight cymbal with medium to loud volume. Loud enough to be heard, yet held back somewhat by the color coating compared to an uncoated 900 series cymbal. The bell is integrated into the cymbal rather than a separate attachment.

Construction

The Color Sound 900 series is made the same way as the regular 900 series in its first stage. Machine-made. And then finished with hand-hammering. The alloy is CuSn20 (bronze alloy with 20% tin), the same alloy used across Paiste's 900 series. The color coating comes in four bold shades: black, purple, red and blue. This is the black version.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a distinct visual look on your rig without compromising on tone, and if you play across a range of settings. From the rehearsal room to stage and studio.
