18" Color Sound 900 Black Crash, Paiste
Product Description
The Paiste Color Sound 900 Black Crash is an 18" crash cymbal from the Color Sound 900 series, taking the classic 900 cymbals and giving them a bold color coating. The coating gives a slightly darker, more controlled sound than the standard series, with a warm, full character that works in any musical setting.
The cymbal is machine-made at its core, just like the rest of the 900 series, but hand-hammered in a final step. The alloy is CuSn20, the same bronze alloy used throughout the series.
- Medium thickness balances control and volume
- Medium low to loud volume, suited to most playing situations
- Washy attack with lively intensity
- Integrated bell
- Warm, full, dynamic sound
Sound Character
The attack is washy and carries a lively intensity through the sound's decay, while the color coating tones down and controls the sound slightly compared to an uncoated 900 cymbal. The integrated bell gives a clear focal point when playing on it, and the volume sits in the medium low to loud range, so the cymbal works both in quieter grooves and when you need it to cut through.
Who It's For
A good choice if you want a 900-series cymbal with a bit more darkness and control, while also wanting to stand out visually. Works for both live and studio use, across genres.
