18" Evans Onyx - Coated Black
Evans 18" Onyx. Thick double-ply head with surprisingly open sound and lasting durability.
Product Description
The Evans Onyx 18" is a heavy-duty drum head built from two plies of 7.5 mil black film with a clear coating on top, making it one of the thickest heads in the Evans lineup. Despite its thickness, it delivers a surprisingly open sound, making it a great choice if you want a durable head with a full, round tone.
The two layers of film give the head extra resistance to hard playing without sacrificing tone. The sound stays open and full rather than choked, which is often the case with thicker heads. The clear coating over the black film layers gives the head an even surface and a distinct, dark look.
