18" Meinl Byzance Dark Crash Cymbal

Product Description

18" Byzance Crash from Meinl is a hand-hammered crash cymbal in the Byzance Dark series, cast in B20 alloy with 80% copper and 20% tin. It has a strong character and suits both studio and live situations.

Sound

The sound character is short and dirty, warmer than similar cymbals, with a clear dark attack. The sound is raw and full-bodied, with plenty of attack and personality. The tone is warm and dry with an earthy dark character, short sustain and relatively low volume.

Construction

The cymbal is cast, heated, rolled and cooled according to a proven schedule to achieve the right thickness. The bell is shaped before hammering, which creates the cymbal's shape. The top and bottom surfaces are unlathed.

Manufacturing

The cymbal is manufactured in Turkey and finished in Germany. The Byzance series comes in six variants: Traditional, Vintage, Jazz, Extra Dry, Dark and Brilliant. It suits jazz, fusion, world music, pop, rock and studio.
