Construction

The cymbal is hand-hammered from B20 bronze at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional craftsmanship. The cast alloy is heated, rolled and cooled following a carefully proven schedule until the correct thickness is reached, before the bell is shaped and the cymbal hand-hammered into its final form. The Byzance Brilliant series also has a hand-lathed top and bottom surface, giving it the polished look that also shapes the sound. After production in Turkey, the cymbals are sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing processes such as laser logo, brilliant finish and sandblasting.

Sound Character

The Byzance Brilliant Medium Crash has medium sustain and volume with a warm sound character. The combination of Turkish craftsmanship and German quality control is a key part of the Byzance series' consistent standard and signature tone.

Who It's For

A great all-around crash for drummers who want a cymbal that works in most musical settings, from rock and pop to fusion and latin.
