18" Paiste 900 Series Heavy Crash

The Paiste 900 Series Heavy Crash is an 18" crash cymbal made from the same CuSn20 alloy used in the Paiste 2002 series. Machine-formed and then hand-hammered in the final stage, it delivers a well-built, great-sounding cymbal at an affordable price – 2002-style character without the full price tag.

Made in a heavier weight, this cymbal produces a warm, full, dynamic sound with plenty of life in the attack. It works equally well live and in the studio, across genres.

Sound Character

The attack is washy with a lively, intense character rather than a short, focused crash. Volume sits in the medium-to-loud range, keeping the cymbal clear in a mix without overpowering it. The integrated bell adds extra definition when played on the bell area.

Construction

900 Series cymbals start out machine-made for a consistent base shape, then get hand-hammered afterwards – a process that adds life and character compared to a fully machine-made cymbal, while keeping the price down.
