• Wide sound spectrum suited to several genres
• Hand-hammered and hand-lathed for signature Byzance tone

What's Included

The set consists of two cymbals: the B18DUC Byzance Dual 18" Crash and the B20ETHC Byzance Traditional 20" Extra Thin Hammered Crash. They're cast from hand-hammered B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin) and hand-lathed on both the top and bottom. The cymbals are manufactured in Meinl's Turkish factory and quality-checked and finished at Meinl's German facility.

Sound Character

The tone is warm with low volume and a full attack, giving a wide dynamic range that sits comfortably in most styles. The broad sound spectrum works especially well for jazz, funk, reggae, world and electro, and the pack is equally at home on stage or in the studio.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want to upgrade an existing cymbal setup with new sounds without losing that warm Byzance character, or if you want two cymbals with distinct personalities that still work well together.

About Byzance

Byzance is made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional craftsmanship. Each cymbal is cast from B20 bronze, which is heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully proven schedule before the bell is shaped and hand-hammering begins. Series with a lathed surface are then hand-lathed before being sent to Germany for quality control, sorting and finishing such as laser logo, brilliant finish or sandblasting. Byzance is available in several variants. Foundry Reserve, Dual, Traditional, Vintage, Jazz, Extra Dry, Dark and Brilliant. Each with its own sound and look.
