Product Description
The Meinl Classics Custom Dark 17" Crash is a heat-treated crash cymbal with fast attack and a bright, shimmering sound layered over a dark low end. The extra hammering adds fullness in the bottom register while keeping the cymbal cutting and clear. It works well across rock, metal, pop and fusion where you want a crash that's heard without getting muddy.
Made from B10 alloy (90% copper, 10% tin) using a hi-tech, computer-controlled manufacturing process. A special heat-treatment formula gives the cymbal both its distinctive dark look and its unique sound, drawing out the full sonic range of the B10 alloy.
Sound Character
Bright tone seasoned with a dark low end and a medium-high pitch. Sustain sits at a medium level with a clear, sparkling trail, and volume is medium but with a brilliant edge when played with force.
