17" Paiste Color Sound 900 Blue Heavy Crash Cymbal - Blue

Product Description

The 17" Blue Heavy Crash from Paiste's Color Sound 900 series stands out both visually and sonically. It shares its construction with the standard 900 series but gets a slightly darker, more controlled sound thanks to its color coating. Works equally well on stage and in the studio, across any genre.

Sound and feel

The alloy is CuSn20 (bell bronze), the same alloy found in Paiste's most classic series. The sound is described as warm, full and dynamic, with a washy attack sound and a lively intensity that makes the cymbal easy to bring to life. Volume sits in the Medium To Loud range, and the weight is heavy, giving the cymbal more body and a more controlled response than a thinner crash. The cymbal has an integrated bell that gives a clear, distinct sound when played there.

Construction and finish

The cymbal is machine-made in its first stage, like the rest of the 900 series, but hand-hammered in the final step. The color coating that gives it its blue finish is also what slightly darkens and controls the sound compared to an unpainted 900 cymbal of the same weight and alloy.

Uses

Works both live and in the studio, across virtually any genre and musical context.
