16"x0.625" ProMark Select Balance Rebound 2B Acorn

Product Description

Rebound 2B with Acorn nylon bead from ProMark's Select Balance series, made from dense, straight-grained hickory. The longer, tapered neck gives extra rebound and a lighter feel, well suited to dynamic playing.

This stick measures 0.625" in diameter (equivalent to 2B), is 16" long, and has a 3" tapered neck. The Acorn-shaped nylon bead gives a clear, distinct sound against cymbals.

The Select Balance concept

ProMark makes Select Balance sticks in two base models: Rebound Balance and Forward Balance. Rebound Balance, like this stick, has a longer, thinner neck with the balance point shifted rearward, giving extra rebound and a lighter feel. Forward Balance instead has a shorter (2.25"), thicker neck with the balance point shifted forward for more power and durability.

Beyond the balance model, there are two bead shapes: Teardrop and Acorn. This model has the Acorn bead, which generally gives a slightly slimmer neck than the equivalent Teardrop model. The base models 7A, 5A and 5B are available in both bead shapes, Teardrop (T) and Acorn (A), and in wood or nylon.

Understanding the part number

The full part number describes the stick's entire build. A pair marked FBH535TW breaks down to Forward Balance (FB), Hickory (H), 0.535" diameter, Teardrop bead (T), wood (W). A pair marked FBH535AW would be the Forward Balance equivalent with an Acorn bead, in wood.

Matched pairs

Every pair is pitch-matched to within 6 Hz, roughly a quarter tone, and matched to within 1.5 grams between the two sticks in the pair. Good pitch matching helps produce even-sounding rolls.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a lighter feel with strong rebound, for example in dynamic playing that calls for fast response.
