Tempering and Sound

FireGrain is ProMark's heat-tempering process for hickory. The heat tempers the wood, making the stick more resistant to wear, while the stick keeps its original weight and balance. The result is a solid sound with a clearer attack, without unwanted vibration, while feel remains the same as untreated hickory.

Rebound Balance Concept

Rebound Balance (RB) is one of ProMark's two base models within the Select Balance concept. Compared to Forward Balance, which has a shorter, thicker neck with weight shifted forward for more power and durability, Rebound Balance has a longer (3"), tapering, thinner neck with the weight balance shifted rearward. This gives extra rebound and a lighter feel, well suited for dynamic playing.

Pair Matching and Manufacturing

Each pair is pitch-matched to within 6Hz, roughly a 0.25 tone step difference. Even pitch matching is essential for even rolls. Pairs are also weight-matched to within 1.5 grams. ProMark owns its own sawmill and can select the best-suited pieces for stick production already at the sawing stage, ensuring consistent, high quality. Manufacturing takes place in the USA, and for every tree cut ProMark plants five new ones.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a durable stick with a solid sound and clear attack, while still keeping a light, responsive feel thanks to the longer, tapering neck and strong rebound.
