16" Aquarian Studio-X - Coated
One-ply 16" head with thin internal damping that removes overtones while keeping the drum's open sound and warmth.
Product Description
The Aquarian Studio-X Coated is a single-ply 16" drumhead combining a transparent 10 mil film with a thin internal damping ring. The damping is subtle but effective, removing much of the excess overtones while preserving the drum's open sound and natural warmth. Perfect for studio environments and close miking.
The light damping gives you control without sacrificing the character of the drum. It smooths out the most unruly overtones while keeping the resonance and warm fundamental tone intact, something that's especially valuable in the studio where every microphone picks up the smallest nuances.
Who It's For
Studio-X is a good fit if you play a lot in studio settings or with close miking and want a head that offers control and clarity without sounding dead or over-damped. It's a natural step up if a fully open head gives you too many overtones, but you don't want to go all the way to a heavily muffled head.
