16" Meinl Soundcaster Custom - Brilliant

Product Description

The Meinl Soundcaster Custom 16" Medium Crash is made from B12 bronze (88% copper, 12% tin) with a brilliant finish. The alloy delivers a unique sound with a brilliant sparkle on top and a full bottom end, giving you a crash that both cuts through and carries weight.

When Soundcaster was introduced in 2004, it was a world first for cymbals made from B12 alloy, a bronze mix not previously used in cymbal manufacturing. The cymbals are shaped using Hi-Tech computer-controlled hammering, giving a consistent, controlled surface throughout the series. Soundcaster Custom carries a brilliant finish that further enhances the shimmering tone of the original series.

Sound Character

This 16" model is a medium crash, sitting between the more explosive thin models and the heavier options in the range. It offers a clear attack with good sustain and a sparkling overtone spread, thanks to the B12 alloy combined with the computer-controlled hammering.

The Series

The Soundcaster Custom series spans a wide range, from explosive thin crashes to the much heavier Mega Bell Ride. That makes it a good choice if you want to build a set of cymbals with a consistent character but different roles within your kit.
