16" Evans EMAD UV - Coated

Product Description

The Evans EMAD UV is a 16" bass drum head/tom head with a narrow hoop, designed for compact kits and bass drums with tom-sized hoops. But it works just as well on a floor tom for a distinct, full-bodied floor tom sound. With the EMAD concept's interchangeable muffling rings and Level 360 technology, this head is easy to tune and delivers sound right from the start.

The EMAD Concept

The head comes with two interchangeable muffling rings, letting you quickly and easily change tone. The wide ring gives a fat, "hammock" style sound, while the narrower ring opens the tone up slightly. Want a more classic, open Bonham-style thud? Play it with no ring at all. Three sounds from one head.

Construction and Surface

The EMAD UV is built from a single layer of 10 mil film with an extra-durable UV Coating, giving a long-lasting surface for heavy use. The narrow hoop makes it suited for compact kits and bass drums with tom-sized hoops. Also available in a version for standard bass drum hoops under the part number BD16EMADUV.

Level 360

Level 360 is Evans' own term for the head's shape, which makes it significantly easier to tune than many other brands. The head sits flat against the drum shell right away, delivering good tone from the start. No unpredictable break-in period before it settles.
