16" Paiste PST 5 China Cymbal

Product Description

The 16" PST 5 China is an affordable china cymbal from Paiste, made from CuSn8 bronze. Sometimes referred to as "2002 bronze". The same alloy used in the brand's higher-end series, but here in a simpler execution. It delivers a clear, clean and open tone with a distinct character, and works across most musical styles and volumes, including live use.

The PST 5 series combines Swiss cymbal expertise with German engineering. It is described as a series where price and quality are well balanced, making it a capable all-round cymbal for practice, studio or stage.

Sound Character

The PST 5 China has an energetic sound with a clear, clean and open tone. The attack is washy, meaning there is a fuller layer of sound underneath the stick attack itself, with a medium-length intensity. The cymbal has an integrated bell that adds an extra element to the overall sound.

Construction and Volume

The thickness is classed as medium heavy, giving the cymbal a dynamic range from medium to very loud volume. It works well both in quieter settings and when more power is needed in the attack.
