16" Istanbul Agop Traditional Trash Hit China Cymbal

Product Description

The 16″ Traditional Trash Hit is a china-type cymbal from Istanbul Agop, shaped by a unique, creative lathing process on the outer edge that gives it a warped, malleable quality. The result is a fast, trashy attack with a fairly quick decay, perfect for a distinctive short accent in your playing.

The special edge lathing gives the bell its characteristic uneven shape and a sound that sits between several cymbal types. Smaller sizes sound like a cross between a splash and a china, while larger sizes lean more towards a crash and china, or crash and swish, character.

Construction and Sound

The cymbal belongs to Istanbul Agop's Traditional Series, where every cymbal is completely lathed on both the top and bottom. This produces rich, warm overtones and a highly musical presence. The Traditional Series is available in weights ranging from paper thin to heavy, offering a wide array of tonal choices to complement any style of music.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a fast, trashy effects cymbal with a quick decay. Useful whenever you need a distinct accent without excessive ringing in the mix.
