Evans Hydraulic Red is a two-ply oil-filled drumhead with a red, transparent film and small oil droplets between the plies. The oil adds control and a short, full sound with a clear attack and minimal ring.
Compared to its siblings Hydraulic Glass, Blue, and Black, the Red Hydraulic feels slightly more open in the attack and carries more energy in the tone. The sound is compressed and fat, delivering a tight, full tone even when the drum is tuned low and loose.
The gold logo is a nod to 70s glitter and glamour, while the sound remains just as serious today as it was back then.
The Hydraulic series is available in tom sizes from 6" to 20", plus bass drum heads in 20" and 22", so you can build a full kit with the same character throughout.
