The Genera G12 is Evans' single-ply head built with a thicker 12-mil film, making it more stable than a standard thin single-ply head without sacrificing sensitivity. The result is a fuller tone and a springier feel, along with better tuning stability over time.

The added thickness compared to a regular single-ply head lets the G12 handle harder playing while giving a rounder, more controlled attack - without the muted character often found in double-ply heads. That makes it a solid middle ground for players who want more body in the sound but still prefer an open, resonant tone.

The head has a coated finish, giving a slightly warmer, less metallic attack than clear versions, plus a natural surface for brush playing.
