16" Dunnett Classic Drums Res-O-Tone Ambassador - Hazy

Product Description

The Dunnett Res-O-Tone Ambassador Hazy is a 16" drum head manufactured by Remo exclusively for Dunnett, based on the classic Remo Ambassador Coated but made from uncoated tympani film. The result is a clean, open, undampened tone with the same feel and response as the Ambassador, combined with the distinct yet familiar character of tympani material.

The head handles an exceptional degree of tension and works across the full tonal range of your drum, while offering a softer stick response than a standard coated head. Many players use coated heads on the batter side for brushes and similar playing, and mounting a Res-O-Tone on the resonant side instead gives the drum a bigger, more open tone.

Construction and finish

Res-O-Tone is made from the same tympani film Remo uses on its orchestral timpani heads, but without any coating. This gives the head a unique semi-transparent Hazy finish and a noticeably different character compared to coated or clear heads, while still retaining much of the familiar Ambassador feel.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a more open, resonant tone from your drum, particularly on the resonant side, without giving up feel and response. Works well as a resonant head on toms and as a distinctive alternative to standard heads in general.
