Product Description
The Evans EC Resonant is a 16" resonant head that gives you better control over your drum's sound and makes tuning easier. Its built-in Edge Control Ring stabilizes the head and keeps overtones in check, which really shows when tuning low.
The ECR follows the same design philosophy as the popular EC2 and EC1: a reinforcement ring at the edge that makes the head respond more predictably. Instead of overtones taking over, you get a focused fundamental tone, even if you like your snare or toms tuned a bit looser than usual.
Sound and Tuning
Loosely tuned resonant heads can easily become uncontrolled and ringy. The Edge Control Ring on the ECR counters this by damping the overtones that otherwise make the sound scattered at low tunings – without killing the head's liveliness.
