Sound and feel

Thanks to the craftsmanship behind the Byzance line, you can shape the tone and volume through how hard you strike the cymbal. The round attack is followed by a controlled sustain, giving you musical control across dynamic levels, from quiet passages to fuller crashes.

Manufacturing

Byzance cymbals are made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional craft methods. The cast B20 blank is heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully tested process until the correct thickness is reached. The bell is shaped and the cymbal is hand-hammered, and lathed series like this one are hand-lathed before being sent to Germany for quality control, sorting and finishing.

Who it's for

A great allround crash for players who move between styles and want a warm, dynamic sound rather than a hard, aggressive attack.
