Product Description

The Meinl Byzance Jazz 16" Medium Thin Crash is a hand-hammered B20 bronze cymbal with a dark, warm tone and a delicate character. It's built with jazz in mind, but its broad sound spectrum makes it equally at home in pop, rock, funk, D&B and fusion.

• Traditional finish with hand-lathed top and bottom
• Warm sound character with medium sustain and volume
• Good balance between crash and ride function

Sound Character

The Jazz series in the Byzance line is dark and thin with a beautiful tone and fine sustain. The Byzance Jazz 16" Medium Thin has a soft, delicate sound suited to jazz, but its volume control makes it work well outside jazz contexts too. A trait that's also made it popular with studio engineers.

Craftsmanship

The Byzance series is made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional handcraft methods, where each cymbal is cast, rolled and hand-hammered to the correct thickness and shape. The cymbals are then sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing. This combination of Turkish craftsmanship and German quality control is key to the Byzance series' warm sound and consistent standard.

Who It's For

A great choice for jazz drummers who want a dark, thin crash with fine dynamics. And equally suited to players in other genres looking for a versatile cymbal with a warm tone.
