Craftsmanship

Byzance cymbals are made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional hand-crafting methods. Each cymbal is cast from B20 alloy (80% copper, 20% tin), heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully proven schedule until the correct thickness is reached. The cymbal's bell is shaped before hand-hammering gives it its final form. The raw cymbals are then sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing. Such as laser logo, brilliant finish or sandblasting. This combination of Turkish craftsmanship and German quality control is behind Byzance's warm sound and consistent standard.
