Craftsmanship

Byzance cymbals are made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional handcraft methods. Each cymbal is cast from B20 alloy, heated, rolled and cooled following a carefully tested schedule until the correct thickness is reached. The bell is shaped before hand-hammering forms the cymbal's shape, and lathed series are hand-lathed before being sent to Germany. There, the raw cymbals undergo quality control, sorting, and finishing processes such as laser logo, brilliant finish or sandblasting. This combination of Turkish craftsmanship and German quality control is the key to Byzance's warm sound and consistent standard.
