The Paiste 2002 Thin Crash is a 16" crash cymbal made from classic CuSn8 bronze, known as "2002 Bronze". It has defined the sound of rock since the early 1970s and works just as well on stage as in the studio, across everything from classic rock and punk to modern metal.

• Fast attack with a washy, lively stick sound
• Bright, warm and powerful tone with high energy and strong projection
• Integrated bell adds a clear complement to the crash sound
• Works from medium-soft to loud playing
• Thin construction for fast response and lively intensity

Sound Character

The 2002 Thin Crash has a brilliant, clear and warm tone that's still strong and highly precise. The attack is washy and lively, with a high energy level and powerful projection that cuts through the mix. The integrated bell adds an extra layer to the crash sound, and the cymbal responds well from light taps to full crash hits.

Applications

Thanks to its range from medium-soft to loud playing, this cymbal works both live and in the studio. It's a classic choice for classic rock, blues, punk, hard rock and heavy metal, but it also suits crossover, country rock, ska, rockabilly, funk, R&B, soul, gospel and many other genres.

Construction

The cymbal is made from CuSn8 alloy, often called "2002 Bronze", in a thin profile that contributes to its fast response and washy character.
