The Meinl Classics Custom Dark 15" Hi-hat is a heat-treated hi-hat made from B10 bronze, combining a bright, fast attack with a fuller bottom register. The special heat treatment gives it both its dark look and a broad sound spectrum, making it versatile across several styles.

The heat treatment process makes the most of the B10 alloy's wide sound spectrum, giving the cymbals an attractive dark appearance as a bonus. The attack is fast and bright with clear shimmer, while the extra hammering adds a fuller bottom register. The result is a hi-hat that works well in rock, metal, pop and fusion, wherever you want both bite and depth in the sound.

Sound Character

The tone is bright but spiced with a dark bottom register and a medium-high pitch. Sustain is medium with a clear sparkle in the decay, and volume sits at a medium level while still delivering a brilliant, cutting crash character when opened.
