The Mapex Armory Tomahawk ARST4551CEB is a 14"x5.5" snare drum with a 1 mm black-plated steel shell, pressed 2.3 mm hoops, and chrome hardware throughout. It delivers a clear, powerful snare sound with plenty of body and dynamics – ideal when you want the snare to cut through the rest of the kit.

Sound Character

The steel shell gives a distinct snare sound with typical steel character – full of overtones and a sharp attack with real body. That means the snare cuts through clearly and doesn't get lost among the rest of the kit, no matter how hard you hit it.

Construction

The shell is 1 mm steel with a black-plated finish, paired with pressed 2.3 mm hoops (rounded 45° bearing edge) and 10 tension rods per side. The snare wires have 20 strands and are controlled by a Piston Strainer. All visible hardware – lugs, hoops, and strainer – is chrome-plated.
