Product Description
The Evans Hydraulic Red is a 14" oil-based snare head with a red coating, built for fat attack, short sustain and exceptional durability. It's made from two plies of 7 mil film with a thin layer of oil in between, giving it the thick, short sound pioneered by early '70s rock and roll.
The oil layer between the plies naturally dampens overtones, producing a compact, focused tone rather than long resonance. Hydraulic heads are known for being easy to tune, making this a solid fix for drums that are otherwise hard to dial in.
Evans has been innovating drumhead design for over 60 years, including creating the first synthetic drumhead. Other notable Evans products include EMAD, the Hydraulics line and the UV1 series. All Evans drumheads are made in the USA and feature Level 360 Technology for consistent bearing-edge contact and more stable tuning.
