14" Evans Genera Concert Staccato
Concert tom batter head, 0.188 mm. Open, warm tone with wide dynamics and extra articulation from internal dampening.
Product Description
The Evans Genera Concert Staccato is a 14" batter head built for concert (orchestral) timpani-style tom playing, designed for symphonic settings where dynamics and clarity matter most. The head is 0.188 mm thick and features a narrow internal dampening ring that sharpens articulation while keeping the tone open and warm.
The wide dynamic range means the head responds cleanly to the softest touches as well as full-force fortissimo passages, making it a natural choice for orchestral players who need control across the entire dynamic spectrum. The narrow internal dampening is what sets the Staccato apart from a plain Genera head. It shortens certain overtones so every stroke stays clear, even in dense orchestral passages.
Recommended Pairing
Evans recommends pairing this batter head with the Orchestral 300 as a resonant (snare-side style) head for the best overall tone and balance between batter and resonant sides.
Who It's For
Great for orchestral percussionists and anyone playing symphonic or concert music who wants an open, warm tone with clear articulation.
