14" Paiste PST X Swiss Flanger Stack top Cymbal Stack

Product Description

The PST X Swiss Flanger Stack is a 14" effects cymbal from Paiste, designed to be stacked as a cymbal stack for extra spice in your setup. It delivers a trashy, washy attack sound with a lively intensity, suited to almost any musical context where you want something beyond the usual crash and ride sounds. Note that this price is for the top cymbal only. The bottom cymbal is not included.

Sound and feel

The sound is effect-laden, trashy and exotic in character, exactly what you'd expect from a flanger stack. The attack is washy with a distinctly lively intensity rather than a clean, defined strike. Volume sits in the medium low to medium loud range, making it easy to control without disappearing in the mix. An integrated bell is included, adding another tonal color to play on.

Construction

The top is built from a mix of CuSn20 bronze, MS63 brass and aluminum, an alloy combination typical of the PST X series of effects cymbals. Thickness is medium thin for the top (the bottom cymbal, sold separately, is thin). The slightly thicker top contributes to the trashy, flanged sound that's the whole point of this kind of stack.

Who it's for

A good fit if you already have a core cymbal setup and want to expand with effect sounds for fills, intros or special passages. The PST X series is affordably priced, making it an easy way to try out cymbal stacks without a big investment.
