14" Meinl Pure Alloy Soundwave - Traditional

Product Description

The Meinl Pure Alloy 14" Soundwave Hi-Hat (PA14SWH) is a hi-hat pair in B12 alloy from Meinl's new Pure Alloy series, made in Germany using computer-controlled hammering. The bottom cymbal features Meinl's Soundwave construction for a clear, fast response, giving the pair a tight sound with a bright character and defined attack.

Pure Alloy is Meinl's new series intended to complement the more complex, earthier sound of the Byzance series with a brighter, cleaner and more timeless tone. The series launches with seven core models in B12 alloy, with more to follow over time. Meinl selects the alloy for each model based on its intended sound character.

Sound Character

Meinl describes the sound character as complex, clear, musical and defined, with a medium-dark tone. Volume sits at medium to low, and sustain is medium to short, with a pitch in the high to mid range. The Soundwave bottom construction contributes to a clear and fast pedal response.

Construction and Manufacturing

The cymbals are made in Germany from Pure Alloy material (B12 alloy) using computer-controlled hammering, giving the even, controlled, bright sound typical of Central European cymbal manufacturing. The surface has a traditional finish.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a tight, bright and defined-sounding hi-hat for rock, pop, fusion, R&B, reggae or studio work. Especially if you already play Byzance and want a brighter, cleaner sound to complement it.

Recommended maintenance: Meinl Cymbal Cleaner and Meinl Cymbal Protectant.
