14" Evans Hydraulic Blue

The Evans Hydraulic Blue is a coated 14" snare drum head built from two plies with a blue oil layer sandwiched between them. That gives a warm, dampened tone with fewer overtones and controlled attack – ideal if you want a head that sounds good right out of the box with minimal extra tuning or muffling.

The oil layer between the two film plies naturally dampens ring in the head, giving your snare a tighter, more focused tone from the start. The coated surface adds warmth to the attack and works well with brushes too.

The built-in dampening makes the Hydraulic Blue a strong choice if you'd rather not add extra muffling rings or gel on top of the head – expect a warm, full, controlled tone rather than an open, ringy one.
