The Aquarian Hi-Frequency 14" Gloss Black is a thin, single-ply tom head at 7 mil, designed to bring out higher frequencies and deliver a brighter, faster-responding tone. It's primarily intended as a resonant head on toms, but can also be used as a batter head if you play with a light touch.
The head is built from a single 7 mil layer of Nu-Brite film, making it one of the most fast-responding heads available. Used as a resonant head on a tom, it brings out brighter overtones and gives the drum a more open, responsive character compared to a thicker head. If used as a batter head, a light touch is required. The thinness makes it very fast-responding but not suited to heavy playing over time.
