The Aquarian Hi-Frequency Coated 14" is a thin, 7 mil single-ply tom head built to bring out higher frequencies and a brighter, more open response. It's primarily intended as a resonant head for toms, but also works as a batter head if you play with a light touch and want the most fast-responding head available.
Tone and Response
The thin 7 mil Nu-Brite film responds quickly to the stick and brings out higher frequencies in the drum, giving toms a brighter response whether used as a batter or resonant head.
Application
Hi-Frequency is recommended as a resonant (underneath) head for toms, working together with the batter head to open up the drum's overall tone. If used as a batter head, a light touch is required. It's not built for heavy hitting.
Finish
Hi-Frequency is also available in Video Gloss black or white for players who want a striking visual look on their toms, in addition to the coated version.
