14" Paiste Color Sound 900 Purple China Cymbal - Purple

Product Description

Paiste Color Sound 900 Purple China is a 14" china cymbal with a purple colour coating, built on the same foundation as the standard 900 series but with a slightly darker, more controlled sound. It is machine-made at its core and then hand-hammered, and works equally well live and in the studio, across genres.

• Warm, full and dynamic sound
• Washy attack with trashy intensity
• Integrated chick sound
• Medium thickness and medium bell
• Medium to loud volume

Sound and construction

The cymbal is cast in CuSn20 bronze and made the same way as the rest of the Color Sound 900 series: machine-made in its first stage, then hand-hammered as a finishing step. The colour coating gives the sound a darker, more controlled character compared to an uncoated 900 cymbal, while keeping the washy attack and trashy intensity. The bell is medium and delivers a clear, integrated chick sound.

Colours in the series

Color Sound 900 is available in four bold colours: black, purple, red and blue. This model is purple. Whichever colour you choose, the underlying construction is the same as the rest of the 900 series, so the choice is mainly about look rather than sound.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a china cymbal with visual character alongside a warm, controlled sound that works in most musical contexts, live and in the studio.
