14" Paiste Color Sound 900 Black China Cymbal - Black

Product Description

The Color Sound 900 Black China is a 14" china cymbal from Paiste with a black color coating. Like the rest of the 900 series, it's machine-made at its core but finished with hand hammering, and the color coating gives it a slightly darker, more controlled sound than a standard 900 cymbal. A great choice if you want a distinct visual look without giving up the classic Paiste sound.

Sound Character

The tone is warm, full and dynamic, with a washy stick sound and trashy intensity that gives the cymbal personality in the mix. The bell has a medium character, and the chick sound is integrated into the overall sound rather than standing apart. The thickness is medium thin, giving a volume range of medium to loud.

Construction

The cymbal is cast in CuSn20 (bell bronze) alloy and processed in several steps: machine forming followed by hand hammering. The black color coating is what sets the sound apart from the standard 900 series version, giving a slightly darker, more controlled sound.

Who It's For

Works well both live and in the studio, and suits most genres and musical contexts where you want a china with a distinct visual and tonal identity.
