Product Description
The Evans EC Resonant is a clear 14" resonant head that makes it easier to tune the drum and get the sound under control. Like the popular EC2 and EC1 heads, the ECR features a built-in Edge Control Ring that stabilizes the head and controls overtones.
Many snares and toms can get a bit unruly in tone the lower they're tuned – overtones start to dominate and it becomes harder to find a clear fundamental. The Edge Control Ring addresses this by adding controlled damping toward the edge of the head, without killing the resonance entirely. The result is a drum that's easier to tune and holds together tonally even at low tunings.
The head is fully clear with no coating, giving an open, natural resonant response that complements the batter head rather than adding its own character. That makes the ECR a solid choice if you want better control and stability in the tone without giving up openness in the sound.
