The Meinl Classics Custom Dark 14" Hi-hat is heat-treated to bring out the wide sound spectrum of the B10 alloy, giving it a dark, striking look as a bonus. The result is a hi-hat with a fast attack, bright edge and a fuller bottom register – a solid choice if you want a cymbal that works across several styles.

Sound Character

The tone is bright but seasoned with a dark bottom register, sitting at a medium-high pitch. The extra hammering adds fullness to the low end without making the attack heavy or sluggish. Sustain is medium with a clear, sparkling shimmer, and the volume is medium with a bright, brilliant burst when you play it open.

Construction

The cymbal is cast from B10 alloy (90% copper, 10% tin) and made using Hi-Tech computer-controlled manufacturing for consistent quality. A special heat-treatment formula gives both the dark look and the unique sound – hence the Dark finish.
