Sound and Dynamics

Manufacturing

The Byzance series is produced at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional craftsmanship. The alloy is cast, rolled and cooled according to a carefully honed process before the cymbal's bell is shaped and hand-hammering begins. Series with a lathed surface, like Brilliant, are hand-lathed before the cymbals are sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing. In this case the polished Brilliant finish. Byzance is available in six variants (Traditional, Vintage, Jazz, Extra Dry, Dark and Brilliant), each with its own distinct sound character.
