Product Description
The Evans Hydraulic Red is a two-ply oil-filled drumhead with a red translucent film and small oil droplets between the plies. It gives you control and a short, fat sound without extra dampening. A great pick if you want a compact, punchy tone that still holds up when tuned low.
The oil layer between the plies naturally controls overtones while keeping the tone thick and compressed. Compared to its sister heads Hydraulic Glass, Blue and Black, Red Hydraulic feels a touch more open in the attack and carries a bit more energy on impact – a head with real character rather than a neutral all-rounder.
Sound Character
The tone is compact and fat, staying tight even when the drum is tuned low. The red translucent film and gold logo give it a clear 70s look, but the sound is just as serious today as it was back then.

Hydraulic Red is available in tom sizes from 6" to 20", plus bass drum sizes 20" and 22". This listing is for the 13" size.
