13" Aquarian Focus-X With Power Dot - Coated
10 mil single-ply head with a vented muffling ring and Power Dot. Fat tom tone, sensitive snare response.
Product Description
The Aquarian Focus-X Coated With Power Dot is a 13" coated, single-ply, 10 mil drum head with a vented muffling ring built right into the hoop under the head. The built-in ring removes unwanted overtones without any extra external muffling, and the head works equally well on toms and snares.
The vented ring sits hidden under the head, just inside the hoop, working continuously as you play. It keeps a fat, controlled tone on toms while giving a sensitive, articulate response on snare drums, all without taping on dampening or dropping anything inside the shell. The center Power Dot adds extra focus to the attack and extra durability against stick wear.
Great for close miking
Because the muffling is built in, Focus-X is a solid choice for close miking, both live and in the studio, since the sound is controlled right at the source instead of needing to be tamed afterwards.
