Product Description
The Aquarian Focus-X Coated is a clear, 10 mil single-ply drum head with a ventilated damping ring built into the hoop area under the head. It tackles unwanted overtones without any external damping and works equally well on toms and snare drums.
The ventilated damping ring removes unwanted overtones while keeping a fat tone on toms, and gives a sensitive, articulate response on snare drums. Since the damping is hidden inside the hoop area, no external muffling is needed. You get a clean, controlled sound right out of the box.
This construction makes the head especially good for close-miking, both live and in the studio, where unwanted overtones can otherwise be a real problem.
Also available as a Coated Reverse Power Dot version for even more focus.
